Three-Day Festival Overview

Since 2009, The Telling Tales Festival has offered a magical rural experience at Hamilton Conservation Authority’s Westfield Heritage Village, where families leave their technology behind to celebrate stories and a love of literacy in all its forms. The ‘Village’s natural surroundings and historic buildings have made it the perfect location to bring stories to life.

In 2018, Telling Tales invited teens and tweens to connect with young adult authors through workshop presentations on writing and illustrating held at the Central Branch of Hamilton Public Library. This event will continue this year with Celebrating Graphic Novels.

This year, The Telling Tales Festival, through a partnership with the Royal Botanical Gardens and The Dan Lawrie International Sculpture Collection, will bring us Nature Tales. This is a day where we celebrate stories that inspire a deeper connection to the natural world.

These venues speak to Telling Tales’ unique vision of presenting literary treasures in partnership with our community’s most significant cultural institutions.
