Family Literacy Day is Wednesday, January 27, 2016
What is Family Literacy Day?
Family Literacy Day was started by ABC Life Literacy Canada in 1999 to raise awareness of the importance of reading and doing activities together as a family. Their goal is to encourage families to spend just 15 minutes a day having fun and learning together!
There are many ways to encourage literacy at home – tell stories, sing a song, let the kids help follow a recipe, play a game, look for signs while out driving, make a shopping list, or draw a map. For more ideas and printable activities, visit ABC Life Literacy Canada.
At Telling Tales we love encouraging family literacy so we’re celebrating with a prize giveaway!
Win A Signed Book!
Win your very own SIGNED copy of Skink on the Brink by Lisa Dalrymple, Seeing Stars by Gary Barwin, or The Great Law by David Bouchard. All are great titles to add to your bookshelf!
Win A Family Pass!
The last day of the contest you have a chance to win an annual family pass to the beautiful Hamilton Conservation Authority, so you can enjoy the great outdoors with the family all year long!
How do I enter?
Just answer the question posted daily to our Facebook page for your chance to win.
We’ll post a new question each day from Wednesday, January 27, 2016 until Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 9 am and then all you have to do is reply in the comments below the post by midnight for your chance to win. All entries from that day will be put into a random draw and one lucky winner will be selected and announced by noon the following day. Here’s the contest prize schedule:
