These rules govern Telling Tales Bookmark Contest (“Contest”). No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest. The act of entering the Contest constitutes acceptance of the contest rules and the decisions of the Contest judges.
The Contest is open to all residents of Ontario, except for employees, immediate families and anyone living with any employee of the Sponsors or their corporate affiliates, advertising or promotional agencies. Illegible entries, photocopies, scanned copies, facsimiles or other mechanically or electronically reproduced entries will not be accepted and will be disqualified. Parental consent is required for those under the age of 12 years.
The Contest begins on Wednesday May 2, 2019 and ends on Tuesday July 31, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. (“Contest Period”). Participants are to enter the contest by submitting a completed Contest Entry Form during the Contest Period, read these rules, and follow the instructions to enter. An entrant under the age of 12 years must have parental/legal consent to submit personal information in order to enter the Contest and maintain eligibility. Contest entry forms must be submitted to any branch of the Hamilton Public Library, Burlington Public Library, or the Brantford Public Library, Westfield Heritage Village office in Rockton, or A Different Drummer Books in Burlington. All entries will become the property of Telling Tales. By entering The Contest, Participants consent to the use of his/her name and city of residence on the TellingTales.org and by announcement at Telling Tales Festival at Westfield Heritage Village in Rockton, Ontario on Sunday September 15, 2019. The selected contestants will be chosen by representatives of The Hamilton Spectator and the Hamilton Public Library, which will take place by August 31, 2019. The winners will be posted on the Telling Tales website and will be announced on our social media channels as well as our Newsletter. Top entries will be showcased in advance at the Hamilton Public Library and on the day of the festival. Chances of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.
Prizes to be won: Two prizes will be given out in each of the following age categories: 3 to 4 years, 5 to 6 years, 7 to 9 years, 10 to 14 years. One 1st prize and one 2nd prize will be awarded in each of the following age categories: 3 to 4 years, 5 to 6 years, 7 to 9 years, 10 to 14 years. Each 1st prize is a selection of books and Telling Tales merchandise valued at $200; Each 2nd prize is a selection of books and Telling Tales merchandise are valued at $100. Winners (parent/legal guardian) must come to Telling Tales Festival at Westfield Heritage Village in Rockton, Ontario on Sunday September 15, 2019 to claim their prize. If the winner (parent/legal guardian) does not claim the prize by the time indicated, Telling Tales will make every effort to get in touch by phone to arrange delivery of the prizes. Telling Tales will not mail or courier prizes and is not responsible for unclaimed prizes.
Prior to receiving the prize, the winner (parent/legal guardian) will be required to show valid photo ID, sign an affidavit of eligibility and release form releasing the sponsors of all liability, confirming compliance with the rules and consenting to the use of his or her name and photograph, without further compensation, in any publicity carried out by the sponsors and/or their advertising and promotional agencies.

Telling Tales may, in its sole discretion, prohibit any person from entering the Contest whom it believes to be abusing the rules. Such abuse includes entering false information.
